pH vs. Elevation and Conductivity vs. Elevation

pH vs. Elevation

The patterns that we see in the graph is that as the elevation rises, the pH of the water decreases but at one point in the graph, the pH went up. But overall, the pH will decrease.

Conductivity vs. Elevation

The higher the elevation, the lower the conductivity is because as you can see, when the elevation was getting higher, the conductivity started to decrease so it tells you that the conductivity will get lower.

Hypothesis:

-Is acid rain responsible for the acidity in the water and what makes up acid water? And does the pH of the water go higher because it sits down for awhile?

Experiment:

-Our experiment involved testing the pH of rain water and seltzer.First we tested both and then waited for about 30 minutes to see if the pH had changed because we wanted to see if it changed into an acid or base.

Results:

-After our experiment, what we noticed is that the seltzers' pH increased after about 30 minutes sitting down because the carbon was leaving the water so if we had let the seltzer waiting around for a longer time, then we would see that the seltzers pH would go to neutral or close to neutral.
